Short version: the app works on your PC. Your settings, pictures and wallpaper never leave it, and we don't collect personal data through the app.
What the app does
Transparent Taskbar+ Lite is a Windows desktop app that changes how the Windows taskbar looks: transparency, a border line, gradients, patterns, your own picture, button and dock styles, and mouse effects.
What stays on your PC
- Your settings (styles, colours, effects, theme, start options) are saved in the app's own data folder on your PC.
- Your pictures: when you choose a picture, the app keeps its own copy in its data folder. Pictures are never uploaded.
- Your wallpaper: the app reads your current desktop wallpaper only to show it behind the small previews in the settings. It is passed to the settings page on your PC and is not uploaded or stored elsewhere.
- Uninstalling the app from Windows removes the app together with its data.
The browser settings page
When you open the settings in your browser, the page on mlapplications.com connects directly to the app on your own PC (a local connection to 127.0.0.1). Your settings travel only between the page and the app on your computer. The browser asks once for permission to access apps on this device; you can revoke it any time from the lock icon in the address bar. The page stores only your theme choice in the browser.
Network connections the app makes
- It downloads the security certificate it needs for the local browser connection, from mlapplications.com.
- It checks mlapplications.com for a newer version of the settings page, so the app window shows the latest page without a Store update.
- It opens links (help pages, the Store) in your browser when you click them.
The app itself contains no advertising, analytics or usage tracking, and sends no personal data.
How the taskbar is styled
To draw styles behind your taskbar icons, the app works together with Windows Explorer (the process that shows the taskbar) to know where the taskbar and its buttons are. It uses this only to position the styles. It doesn't read your files, windows or what you type.
This website
The help pages and the browser version of the settings are hosted on mlapplications.com, which shows advertising (Google Ad Manager and partners) and uses Google Analytics to count visits. These services may use cookies or similar technologies in your browser according to their own policies and your consent choices. They are part of the website, not of the app, and they don't receive your app settings or pictures.
